A Message from Your Eastern Region President
As I sat here over the last week working on putting together our registration, I ran into a problem. I had done something to the site that would not allow for further registrations (I registered to test the process). For those of you who may know me well, I do not give up easily. I tried everything I could think of to clear up the issue. I then reached out to a professional. I was willing to "pay" someone to just get it done. Well, after trying this and that, he wasn't able to get the registration to work. I then contacted the help desk at Wix.com. After several attempts over several hours, they then escalated the issue to the Wix Gods.
And as I sat here this morning, thinking of what I haven't tried, I remembered that there was a way of restoring back-ups. And the heavens opened up and angels began to sing! Well, I do exaggerate a little. But it really got me thinking that sometimes we need to "restart" or "reboot" ourselves too. And what a perfect segue to say, our Conference Registration site is "LIVE." Kickstart or Reboot your professional development and enhance your professional competencies in areas of:
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion including Racial Injustice
Welcoming Employees back into the Workplace, Safely
Talent Sourcing during the Pandemic and much more.
So, what is your next step? Below this message, you will see an icon displaying our conference theme: "Hindsight is 2020: Navigating New Horizons in 2021." Select the Registration button and you are on your way, thanks to a reboot! Our conference is set to take place May 11th through 13th. Each day will begin at 1:00 pm and end at 4:00 pm. We thought this would allow you time to address work issues in the morning and sign-in for training in the afternoon. We will also have opportunities to connect with one another and have some fun. As our program develops, we will add information for you to see.
If you have questions or ideas on programming, please reach out to our Program Chair, Kim Barberi.
Take care, be safe and be willing to REBOOT!
Ileana Turner, IPMA-SCP, President
IPMA-HR Eastern Region Board
Dearest IPMA Family,
I pray that while you are taking the time to read this message, you and your family are safe and taking care of yourself. Our IPMA-HR Eastern Region Board has been working together to figure out the best and safest way to bring you our annual business meeting and training forum. We are going to follow in the steps of IPMA-HR International and will host this year's conference "virtually" using Zoom. As we are moving forward as a nation to get everyone vaccinated, we believe it is in the best interest of our members to host this year's event virtually and mid-year, look at what next year may look like.
